THE PURPOSE

Project developed for IBM, technical sponsor of the Centennial Olympics, with the aim of demonstrating the use of the company’s new devices.

THE PROJECT

Construction of a special site – SportLine – where seven Italian athletes, all medal winners in their day (Jury Chechi, Alberto Gibellini, Alessandro Lambruschini, Gianni Perricelli, Luca Sacchi, Andrea Zorzi and Margherita Zalaffi), wrote daily entries in their “Olympic diaries”.

A messaging system then allowed the public to speak directly with the athletes in the SportLine team.

An example of online and social media communication back before platforms such as Facebook even existed.
